Weathercock Cottage, Sedbergh. |

Weathercock Cottage sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, an attractive holiday cottage with a large enclosed rear garden with hot tub for 6, perfectly placed for Sedbergh and Sedbergh School on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Cumbria, ideal for exploring both the Dales and the nearby Lake District National Park (Windermere is just twenty miles away), this is a well appointed, clean and bright holiday destination for friends and families with an abundance of wonderful walks and attractions for great days out. Whatever the weather, this delightful cottage is a perfect combination of old and new, with all the right ingredients for a relaxing break. Bubble your aches away in the hot tub after a long day walking or snuggle up in front of a roaring log fire in the sitting room after supper. The cottage has a small games room with dart board, dining room, drying room, downstairs and upstairs toilets, shower, roll top bath, towelling robes for hot tub use (by arrangement) piano, extra double sofa bed in master bedroom, high chair, cot, large curved TV, sound bar, surround sound, wifi, dvd player, and fabulous views of the Howgills, much loved by Wainwright, who likened them to 'a herd of sleeping elephants'. The cottage is heated by electric radiators, supplemented by two woodburning stoves. The area offers some of the finest walking you will find anywhere in the country (the cottage is on The Dales Way long distance path), and England's highest waterfall Cautley Spout. There are good opportunities for fishing the adjacent River Lune, swimming at Sedbergh, golf, cycling, potholing and pony trekking, as well as caving at Ingleton and water sports at Killington Lake. Off road parking, secure bike storage. One well behaved dog welcome. Sedbergh is England’s Book Town, and its annual Sheepfest is very popular. |
