Staveley Holiday Accommodation
Staveley is high on the list of preferred Lake District holiday choices. It's attractiveness lays in the fact that it is a small unpretentious Lakeland community which, by virtue of a by-pass is spared the noise and rush of the heavy holiday and local traffic passing along the A591. Visitors are left largely undisturbed to enjoy the gentle walks and views over and around the nearby low hills, and not much farther on, in the Kentmere Valley, they can share the challenges of the tracks and trails of the popular Kentmere Round with cyclists and mountain bikers. Lake Windermere, Englands biggest lake is close by and not many miles beyond are the attractions of Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick whilst in the opposite direction only 4 miles away is Kendal, the “Gateway to the Lakes”. Staveley's amenities of a few shops, a chemist, post office, a couple of traditional pubs, an ancient church and a collection of thriving business and retail outlets in the sociable “Yard”, are gathered around the main street and not far from several of the varied range of holiday accommodations. For more information about Staveley, it's bus and rail services and amenities, go to our sister site www.wordsworthcountry.com where you will also find photographs, a calendar of Lake District and Cumbria events and shows, and much more about the region.
