Hawkshead Holiday Accommodation

Stroll undisturbed by traffic in car free narrow streets flanked by whitewashed houses, and through archways to enter the peaceful world in the snug enclosure of one of the village squares and here, pause for a while in a cosy tea shop or traditional inn. This is Hawkshead, probably one of, if not the prettiest village in the Lake District. It's association and tokens to remind of the author Beatrix Potter whose delightful small animal stories have delighted children the world over, and, William Wordsworth, Lakelands most famous poet, have been major visitor attractions for many years. Add the opportunities of forest walks, fishing, cycling and mountain biking in the beauty spots of the surrounding countryside to Hawksheads portfolio of activities and attractions, and you have all the ingredients required to make it a Lake District stay to remember. Hawkshead and it's near neighbours are particularly popular holiday destinations and consequently the bed and breakfast, guest house, self catering holiday cottage and hotel accommodations are in great demand especially during the summer holiday periods so please book early. For more information about Hawkshead and other towns and villages in the Lake district and Cumbria and a calendar of events, a list of the regions attractions, photographs, details of the regions four major long distance walks plus much more please see our sister site www.wordsworthcountry.com
