The Barbon Inn

Barbon Inn The Barbon Inn lies in the delightful village of Barbon, nestling in the Lune valley, deep between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Originally built in the 17th century as a coaching Inn and recently tastefully refurbished retaining all the character you would expect to find in a building over 300 years old.
All of our ten rooms are en-suite with baths/showers and white fluffy towels.
Sleep in our luxury "Sealy" beds with crisp cotton sheets you won't want to get out of until the smell of freshly brewed coffee and grilled bacon wafts from the kitchen.
Eat in the Oak Room Restaurant with 17th century oak settles and chairs, polished oak and mahogany tables. A log fire completes the ambiance. Our menus feature the excellent local produce on our doorstep.
Drink in the Coach Lamp Bar by an open log fire, locally brewed beers are a speciality or choose some wine from our personally selected wine list. Bar meals are also served by the fire from 12 noon – 2 pm and 6 pm – 9 pm.

Weathercock Cottage sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, an attractive holiday cottage with a large enclosed rear garden with hot tub for 6, perfectly placed for Sedbergh and Sedbergh School on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Cumbria, ideal for exploring both the Dales and the nearby Lake District National Park (Windermere is just twenty miles away), this is a well appointed, clean and bright holiday destination for friends and families with an abundance of wonderful walks and attractions for great days out.

Whatever the weather, this delightful cottage is a perfect combination of old and new, with all the right ingredients for a relaxing break. Bubble your aches away in the hot tub after a long day walking or snuggle up in front of a roaring log fire in the sitting room after supper. The cottage has a small games room with dart board, dining room, drying room, downstairs and upstairs toilets, shower, roll top bath, towelling robes for hot tub use (by arrangement) piano, extra double sofa bed in master bedroom, high chair, cot, large curved TV, sound bar, surround sound, wifi, dvd player, and fabulous views of the Howgills, much loved by Wainwright, who likened them to 'a herd of sleeping elephants'. The cottage is heated by electric radiators, supplemented by two woodburning stoves.

The area offers some of the finest walking you will find anywhere in the country (the cottage is on The Dales Way long distance path), and England's highest waterfall Cautley Spout. There are good opportunities for fishing the adjacent River Lune, swimming at Sedbergh, golf, cycling, potholing and pony trekking, as well as caving at Ingleton and water sports at Killington Lake. Off road parking, secure bike storage.  One well behaved dog welcome. Sedbergh is England’s Book Town, and its annual Sheepfest is very popular.

Newbarn is beautifully appointed, having recently undergone extensive refurbishment.
It is conveniently situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, and is only 3 miles from Sedbergh and 8 miles from Kendal . This quiet location offers beautiful views, yet benefits from the proximity of local shops and Pubs. It is a most tranquil retreat for those who want to get away from all the stresses and strains of everyday life. You will also find nearby some good walking & cycling areas, Howgills, Dalesway (1 mile) as well as five local golf courses. The kitchen appliances are a fridge, a halogen Hob, with a fan oven and separate grill. There is also a microwave oven and lots of storage space. The dining table has enough seats for 6 people. The utility room contains a washing machine and some drying space. Upstairs you will find a spacious living room with TV, video, a working fireplace, a 3 seater sofa and an armchair. The three bedrooms are also on the first floor, one double with enough space for a travel cot, one with two single beds and the last one with a bunk bed. The bathroom with toilet and corner bath/shower is also located on this floor.
The cottage can accomodate 6 (4 adults comfortably)
A travel cot is available for families with very young children.

Drawell is a delightful cosy well equipped cottage situated on a working beef and sheep farm but within its own private area and gardens.
Nestling in the slopes of the Howgill fells Drawell is inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park offering beautiful scenery and views.
It's an ideal location for walking or touring the Dales or the Lake District.
Howgill is 2.5 miles from Sedbergh where there are pubs, cafes, shops, post office and garage and a traditional market on Wednesdays.
Drawell Cottage is well equiped with modern appliances to make your stay a
comfortable and enjoyable one.
The lounge has oak beams and panelling and electric wood effect stove within a rustic brick inglenook fireplace.
There are CD/cassette player/radio, colour TV and video as well as stunning views of the Howgill Fells and the Lune Valley.
The bathroom has a bath and shower with towels provided.
Drawell Cottage has two bedrooms:
One twin bedroom and one king sized bedroom. Both rooms have radiators for those colder months, ample wardrobe and storage space, bedside tables with lamps and spectacular views over the fells.
In the kitchen you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave with a fridge and freezer located in a seperate pantry.
There is a combi bolier which provides a plentiful supply of hot water and all electricity is inclusive in the price. Bed linen is provided and a cot and highchair are available.
The cottage has enclosed gardens to both the front and rear. Both are child and pet safe. There is a patio and barbeque area for the use of guests for dining or sitting
outside.
We also welcome well behaved dogs.

Thwaite Farm Cottage

Thwaite Farm Thwaite Farm and Cottage are situated alongside the River Lune close to the hamlet of Howgill and about 3 miles from the ancient market town of Sedbergh. The cottage has magnificent panoramic views of the Howgill Fells and a wide variety of bird life. The farm is a working farm with beef cattle and sheep.
Thwaite Cottage adjoins the end of the farmhouse and has recently been rebuilt and fully equipped. It is self contained and sleeps 6 people with accommodation on two floors.
Kitchen / dining room, living room, two double bedrooms and toilet with shower. There is a sofa bed in the living room. The rooms are centrally heated with an oil stove in the kitchen and radiators in other rooms.
Duvets, blankets and bed linen are all provided. Towels are also available at £5 per week. There is a washing machine and a drier. The water supply comes from its own spring.
A public telephone is situated about half a mile away.
Fishing rights are available by arrangement.
Pets by arrangement at £10 per week on the understanding that they are kept under control at all times.
Cots and high-chair are available on request.
Ample private parking and a large lawned garden with furniture on the premises.
A deposit of of £25 per week is required at the time of booking and the balance paid 4 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. Special arrangements, Christmas and New Year may require a deposit of up to 50% of the total cost. Please enquire for further information.
How to get there.
From Sedbergh, take take the Howgill Lane which is alongside the Dalesman Public House opposite the church. Proceed for about 3 miles and turn left at the sign for Thwaite. Please note that if you reach the bridge over Chapel Beck, you have gone too far

Bramble Cottage Bramble Cottage is a delightful, compact, well-furnished cottage with modern decor in a quiet cul de sac in Sedbergh, at the foot of Winder Fell . It has two bedrooms, (one double, one single), a small well-equipped kitchen and lounge/dining room with patio doors leading to an enclosed, sunny patio garden.
The cottage is ideal for a stay in Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Dales. You can walk to the foot of the dale within 5 minutes from the house and into the historic market town of Sedbergh with its shops and pubs in 8 to 10 minutes.
The cottage is perfect for walkers, couples and small families. It provides a superb base to explore the town of Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Dales as well as being close to the Lake District.
There is private off road parking for one car and a visitor space.
The hall leads to the fitted modern kitchen with views of Winder Fell.
The kitchen has electric oven grill and hob, washer/dryer, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and microwave oven.
The sitting room has two sofas, a dining table and 6 chairs, TV with DVD player, board games, maps and local information.
The patio door leads to a sunny enclosed south-east facing rear garden with table, parasol and 4 chairs
A double bedroom boasts a view of Winder Fell with king-sized bed, wardrobe, dressing table with drawers and bedside cabinets.
The small single room has full-sized single bed with drawers underneath, bedside cabinet and wall mirror.
For the bathroom, there is a Mira shower over the bath with glass shower screen, basin and WC.
Gas central heating throughout.
Bed linen, towels, kitchen towel and tea towels are included for stays of at least one week and for short stays by arrangement.
