Seagull House is a modern holiday cottage, situated in the peaceful village of Port Haverigg, Cumbria. Whether you want a quiet holiday retreat or somewhere to walk and explore, Seagull House is the ideal base. Local pubs and shops can be found on our doorstep, as well as an attrative RSPB bird shelter for nature enthusiasts. Seagull House is owned and managed by ourselves; Kath and Alan Horton. The cottage can accommodate 4/5 people with two double bedrooms and a folding bed. A travel cot and a high chair are also supplied. Seagull House is designed over three levels with wood flooring and pine furnishings throughout. The entrance is via a private Courtyard with barbeque and garden furniture. The cottage's ground floor comprises a double bedroom, shower room (electric shower, wash basin, toilet), a living area, built-in storage and a washing machine. Open pine stairs lead to the middle level which is the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Both living rooms are equipped with freeview TV, a DVD player and a CD player. Books and games are also available for guests to use. The kitchen is fully equipped with solid beech worktops, fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, cooking utensils and tea towels. The patio doors open out onto the Sun balcony which has views over the river to the sea and the nearest fell: Black Combe. Stone steps lead down to the river frontage. More pine stairs lead to the spacious upper bedroom with en-suite facilities (bath, wash basin, toilet and shower cubicle) and a pine wardrobe. All bedlinen and bath towels are supplied, gas central heating and electricity is included in the price. There is also designated parking within the complex. |

It's owned and run by Mr and Mrs Haston, who have a warm welcome for their guests, including children from any age but not pets. The cottage, in the village of Haverigg, lies close to the beach and an RSPB sanctuary at Hodbarrow. The RAF Museum in the village is a popular visitor attraction, and other places to visit nearby include Millom Folk Museum and Black Combe Fell. Quiet Cottage is situated 150 yards from the sea, with 3 miles of sandy beach and sand dunes. Close by are shops and pubs and an RSPB santuary. Visitors may enjoy the RAF museum or golf at Silecroft. The Lake District is within easy reach by car, making The Quiet Cottage the ideal base for walking, touring, outdoor pursuits, relaxing boat trips or lake and river fishing. The Quiet Cottage has a three star rating from the English Tourism Council and the owners have been through Welcome Host training to ensure you receive quality service and enjoy your stay.
